As an agency of the U.S. Dept. of Commerce Technology Administration, NIST works with industry to apply technologies, measurements and standards, conducting research on a range of chemical, physical, materials and information sciences and engineering. Housing a staff of 430 NIST scientists, engineers, technicians and support personnel, the scenic campus in South Boulder is shared with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). |
